Current rules prohibit use of rookie-eligible players unless they are drafted before the start of the season. Every year, this results in quite a few productive players being off-limits. Because it seems a shame to let good talent go to waste, this poll will assess the league's prospect of making them available during the current season.

I disagree with the wording of the option that's currently winning...but am in favor of this: Rookie FA's cost 1/1 and should carry loyalty rights, but no match option.
The match option is only in place for those players that are drafted in the minors draft, and should remain that way. However, it doesn't make any sense that non-rookie players signed to a 1/1 contract have loyalty rights, but rookie FA's don't...and as far as I understand it, loyalty rights only come into play when there's an exact match of salary and years, something that probably won't occur often, if at all.

Dean - since you raised it, in the baseball league, loyalty rights come into play 3 or 4 times in the first bid round. (Usually, it's with good players that are attracting max bids from several owners.)
The second option (Make them all FA's) fits what you're in favor of.

Mike, your comment helps. Can you edit that option just to say loyalty rights included?

I voted to keep the rule the same. Since it is obvious we will change the rule, my vote would go to the fourth option.

Gary - I don't know how to edit the poll - no buttons to allow that I can see. The only thing I can do is delete the poll and then re-create it, but all the votes will be lost.

NO need to restart this. Wasn't sure if editing items was an option.....no biggie.
