So to clarify, Murray was my number 1 pick and I am waiting on Rawls decision to match or not. Jeremy indicated that my other 2 manditories Akers and Montgomery were already signed and assigned to my team...if Rawls opts to not match Murray he would become my number 1 manditory and it would be him and Akers??? I picked up both Akers and Montgomery based on the earlier email but will drop Montgomery until I hear if I get Murray. Sorry for the confusion.

If I pass on Murray he is mandatory for Mongrels since he was their top willing bid and Montgomery would not be mandatory. I have the same situation. If Rick passes on Lamb then he’s mandatory for me and Tucker wouldn’t be mandatory. I’m signing Tucker anyway so it’s not an issue but it looks like the same thing is happening with a few other teams too.

Well in the past i have tried to to do it that way as in if the player passes on a match option it becomes the mandatory pick if it was higher in priority. I was told by several members that it was the initial winning picks that counted on the mandatory picks. If it should be the other way then i have no issue with it. It has just been fought in the past when i went the opposite way.

Not sure who has said what in the past, but the rule is pretty straightforward. The mandatory signings are the top two successful bids based on bid priority. Match options can make a bid unsuccessful, but a declined match doesn’t alter the priority list.

For clarification, Simply does not have matching rights on Deshaun Watson, who was on a 12/1 contract last year.
He does have loyalty rights, but I can’t tell from the bid results what Simply’s bid for Watson was. Need to check.

I thought loyalty was only for players who weren't on rookie deals If the current owner bids the same amount you, he wins the loyalty tiebreaker and doesn’t need to use the match option. The match option only comes in to play if you bid more. I see, thank you for clarifying.

Match Daniel Jones. Made same mistake I often make in baseball leagues. Should have bid max & kept my pick.
Can we make a rule that in order to get a pick for being matched you have to be able to afford the player being matched. Beer couldn't sign Jones even if I passed.

If you hadn't matched Jones he would have been my 2nd mandatory signing and I couldn't have signed Andrews.

I have seen in the past, I think i saw Beast do that a couple times to get some picks.

That’s the way I’ve always understood it.
