How about Erick Aybar? Sorry, the search function is not working on my PC. Not sure why.

Dean - for some reason, Proboards is having a system problem. Every search today, I've gotten "Unable to connect to the server. Please try later."
Aybar is on your own loyalty list and wasn't picked up in the bid rounds, which means that he is a true FA.
You can sign him, but have to drop someone else to stay within 26 max roster.

When it comes turn for the owners with No Slots Open, are we to wait for a pass, or can we just move ahead. If those owners aren't paying attention to the FA draft I have 5 no room owners ahead of me, and that means up to 5 days of waiting. Just a question.

One question I don't see answered in the rules, but I think I know the answer to...
If we are still in the FA draft, is ANYONE other than minor league eligible players able to be picked up? Specifically, if there's a released player on someone else's roster, can they be picked up? And if so, are they picked up at $1/1 or at the released salary/years?

Gary - we changed the rules to allow you to bid on released players in the bid rounds, but with their existing contracts as a minimum bid. At the time, the assumption was that if you wanted a released player, you could bid on him. So, if you didn't bid, you didn't want him. There is no provision for picking up a released player as an FA. That's an interesting concept, but never been discussed that I know of. I don't think it make sense to take a released player on a 10/2 contract and pick him up as an FA at 1/1. $10 reduction to the team losing him, but only $1 for the team that drafts him? One thing to consider is whether we should allow released players to be picked up in the FA draft at their current contracts. Probably too late to implement this for the 2014 season, if you ask me. (Although, I think it could work for 2015.)

So, am I reading this right that we can't pick up released players in the FA draft?

Right, Ron - the released players are not available. However, if you want one of them, you can pick him up after the draft.

Bob - the players with no empty slots still have the option to drop a current player and draft a new one. Until they type the word 'pass', they are still part of the queue. That said, I don't think that Rich, Scott, Dave, nor I have shown that we're going to drag out our picks. In other words, don't wait five days, or you'll get timed out... FWIW - I've got Patrick Corbin on my active roster. I plan to put him on the DL and draft someone else. (I know that it's not normally good strategy to reveal your plans in a competitive league, but anyone who looked at my roster could guess it pretty easily.)

I understand that they could still pick, I was just hoping if anyone was planning to pass, that they would do it ahead of time, instead of dragging things out.
