I'll sign Zach Ertz 5/2. FWIW, I would have passed the match at 8/2...too much money.

Jersey Jets sign Matt Bryant in addition to the mandatory picks of LeVeon Bell and James White. I'll pass on Kaep. LOL Waiting on the others added these 3 players on ESPN as well as Martavis Bryant, correcting a bookkeeping deletion from the translation from 2016 roster to 2017 roster Also released Kenneth Dixon RB BAL 0/3 sol is waiting for you on mike evens. you want to match? you need to sign him first. Otherwise there is no need for me to match

Otherwise there is no need for me to match The match option has always been the first step in the process, so you need to match first. This does bring up a good point for the future, though. Matching has always been the first step in the process. The team that won the bid should be required to commit to signing the player before the match option is processed. That way, the highest team that does decide to sign him will be rewarded with the pick for the match.

Sorry for the delay and confusion, but consider this for the future. I know we are behind the schedule and we have new people, but in the past posting of bids was done differently. In the past winning, 2nd place, 3rd place bids were listed for every team. That included the mandatory signings for EACH team. Matching decisions came AFTER all winning bids were posted.
An example from Sandlots 2016 1st round bids is with Carlos Martinez. He was listed as a winning bid by BCP (not a mandatory signing), 2nd place by SOL, 3rd by 4th ST. I had the match option (with a token 1/5 bid) and made my choice of matching after BCP did not sign him.
Here I assumed (being an ass) SOL won the bid and that it was a mandatory signing, since I didn't see any other mandatory signings by SOL listed.

Took a look at last years Football since I was on the DL when the bidding went down & saw it was done both ways. OK with the players listed it that's how the sausage gets made but Agree with Rich that it's more confusing without the team bidding lists & also harder to notice errors for players you aren't involved with. Know it's more work but do think it's better that way for the future. Thanks to the new Commish for keeping the league going.

For the future, I think Rich's comment should be the right way to do the biding. I admit I bid 12/4 on Hopkins hoping to win so maybe Mike would use his match option and I could pick up his first pick in the draft. I didn't really have plans of taking Hopkins although I would have thought hard about it if I had won the bid and Mike would have refused to match.
I don't think you should be able to use this type of false bidding in order to get someone's draft choices. As Rich said, you should be able to force their hand and make the bidder commit first.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone of the bidders in this discussion were trying to steal a draft choice.

We'll definitely discuss the signing vs. match option commitment going forward, as it pertains to this and both baseball leagues.
Now that the match option has been finalized, I don't see any other dilemmas that people could possibly have. Please post your decisions asap so we can move on. We're a little behind normal this season, but should be able to complete most everything by opening day if everyone pays attention with some consistency.

SOL will sign John Brown, Kenny Britt, Dan Bailey (Mandatory), and Jason Witten. Pass on Garcon and Chargers D
I want him anyways, but I technically signed Mike Evans and DeAndre Hopkins (before they were matched), so wouldn't Bailey be a choice signing?
Just to add to any confusion I created today about match options!

In looking at the transactions that still need to be completed I see my name is showing up. I passed on everything left on Wednesday so Duke Johnson should be a pass for 4th St

If we want to add more confusion to the match, I've wondered since the first day why it's not like "real" baseball FAs? Where the team LOSING the player gets a draft pick. If Tom Brady was bid at 12/4 and last years owner decided not to match, I always felt like that team should get a draft pick. So you could lose a top 3 QB and not get any comp because you thought 4 years were too much for a 40 year old QB
